As doulas, we love to see your nursery and your well-curated baby registry.
Our labor clients show us their masterpieces before the diaper pails have ever been used. It’s so sweet to see everything fresh and ready for the baby. With our postpartum clients, we get to know the nursery well, right down to how you fold newborn socks. It can sometimes we feel like we move in, spending several overnights a week in the nursery.
For our clients reading this, I just have to stop and say that y’all are so creative, and thoughtful. Our very favorite touches are the ones that are particularly meaningful to your family.
We’ve seen personalized maps of parents’ travels. One family painted, murals including the family pets. And we’ve seen entire wardrobes of onesies decorated at baby showers. It all melts our hearts.
I’m not sure if we’re surrounded by Pinterest moms and dads to be. Or maybe the nesting instincts are just incredibly strong in the families we work with. Either way, I know that our clients very much love their babies. You dote on them before they even get here!
Unfortunately, you can’t hand make everything for your baby. Sometimes, you just have to break down and put a registry together for your baby shower.
You can still make store-bought items special though, and one of the ways is to shop local for your baby registry. So we’ve put together a quick list of places to find one of a kind items that still showcase your baby’s individuality.
